General care tips
Our furniture is designed to last for generations. To keep it looking great we suggest the following care guidance.
Unlike manufactured and composite materials, the real wood used in our furniture, being a natural material, will react to its surroundings. All solid wood will expand and contract based on climatic changes. Changes in shape and colour can be expected during the life of the product but cannot be 100% predicted.
Movement in the timber used in handcrafted furniture provides character and is a feature that distinguishes hand crafted furniture. For example items placed near a dry heat source may experience shrinkage, whereas items in a high moisture environment may experience expansion. All efforts are made to mitigate these factors during the construction process but we recommend that consideration is taken to the location of the items in your home and stress that items should never be placed or stored where they are exposed to the elements or high moisture.

Keep It Cool: Try to keep your furniture out of direct sunlight to avoid fading and cracking.
Humidity Matters: Wood loves a stable environment, so aim for a humidity level around 40-50%. Items are not suitable to be placed in a bathroom or similar humid environment.
Coasters and Placemats Are Your Friends: Use them to prevent those annoying rings and scratches.
Dust Often: Grab a soft, dry cloth and dust in the direction of the grain to keep things smooth.
Pick the Right Cleaners: Stay away from harsh chemicals. Go for products made for wood care. An occasional polish with a natural wax will help the surface stay looking good.
Quick on the Spills: Wipe up any spills right away to avoid stains and water damage.
Be Gentle: Watch out for sharp objects that can scratch or dent the surface.
