Aberteifi Bench

Two seater bench with back, handcrafted from local beech and sustainably sourced ash.

Commissioned for the 2026 Craft Festival Town trail, the bench incorporates beech from a wind blown tree from Victoria Gardens in Cardigan.

Designed to seat two people, the beech seat has a wonderful rich colour and has been saddled for extra comfort. The spindles and legs are made from a pale ash to provide a subtle contrast to the warm beech tones.

A compact bench, which works effortlessly in almost any home. Its legs are hand‑shaped into an octagonal profile with a gentle taper toward the seat, and the tenons are wedged through the top for strength and character. The back spindles are also shaped by hand from ash. Because each spindle is individually worked with hand tools, they all carry slight variations that make the bench visually appealing and pleasantly tactile.
