This handcrafted oak stick chair has six sticks for the back rest, topped with a gently curved comb. These have been positioned gently sloping backwards to create a comfortable chair for lounging.

The back sticks are shaped by hand from straight timber and are tapered towards the comb. The two outer sticks are wider and more square in the middle in order to accommodate the attached arm rests.

The legs are hand shaped and octagonal in form, with a gentle taper towards the seat. They are joined to the seat using through tenons with contrast black walnut wedges for strength.

The seat is carved by hand using an adze and a travisher, both of which are curve bladed tools designed for scooping out a comfortable seat.
